Nina & Adrian's wedding is coming up next month in Northumberland. I recently arranged to meet up with them on a trip to London for their prewed shoot.

Nina & Adrian - it was so nice to meet you both & I know the wedding next month will be beautiful x
Zara & Linton were married at Otterburn Hall last month. There was a break in the wet weather for them and the sun shone most of the day. Every part of the day was lovely to photograph, especially Zara, Linton and their little boy Luca.

I met up with Hannah & Karl earlier this year for a portrait shoot near their home in Camden. Despite the cold, we had a lovely walk through the park & along the canal.

I'm very excited about Lucy & Paul's wedding this weekend at Dundas Castle, just north of Edinburgh. Here are a few shots from their prewed shoot...

Sarah & Rob are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. They were married on a beautiful spring day at Slaley Hall in Northumberland, with blues skies and a dusting of snow.

These beautiful little two are Archie & Elektra...both were just gorgeous to photograph & made it a lovely family portrait shoot.

Kate & Oli are getting married this Summer in Devon, in what sounds like an amazing location next to the sea. In keeping with the coastal theme we headed to the beach for their prewed shoot.

Kate & Oli....I cannot wait for your wedding. See you both soon xx
Zara & Linton's wedding is coming up later this month. I met with them and their gorgeous little boy, on a beautiful Sunday morning for their prewed shoot at the beach.

It was so nice to meet you all & I'm very excited for the wedding in a few weeks!
Kate & Jon's wedding day at Close House, just like like the weather, was fresh, spring like and lovely! A stunning dress & spring bouquet of flowers were a fabulous way for my day to start...

This was a recent shoot for Kirsty Taylor Jewellery, to update her catalogue. Kirsty's work is beautiful and is always a pleasure to photograph.

I met with Catherine & David on a lovely spring morning at the beach for their prewed shoot. Seamus the dog came too and was a great little model!

Can't wait for the wedding this Summer x
Lorraine & Chris had a beautiful spring day for their lovely wedding at Beamish Hall in County Durham. The sun shone all day and the vibe was most definitely relaxed & happy.

Lorraine & Chris - congratulations & thank you for sharing your day with me x
Lucy & Giles are getting married later this Spring so we met recently for their prewed shoot. They were so lovely to photograph and after hearing some more of the wedding plans, I'm very excited!

Here are some shots from a recent portrait session with my lovely friends Tom & Alicia, and their gorgeous little boy Finley.

Last time I photographed Kate & Craig was at their wedding, a beautiful day last July. This time I was photographing them with the newest addition to their family, the gorgeous baby Oswald, or Ozzie to his friends.

I recently did some product shots for a fabulous shop in Dundee, Lovely Things. It sells exactly that and is just a treasure trove of gorgeousness...

My first wedding of 2012 was a treasure! It did rain all day, but I was photographing two friends, which made it a very special day for me. I've known Amy since school where we were quite often joined at the hip. It's certainly a more emotional experience photographing a friend's wedding but one I thoroughly enjoyed!

Amy & Nic, I hope you're having the holiday of a lifetime. All my love xxx
Kate and Jon's wedding is fast approaching this March. We met in the new year for a lovely prewed shoot, choosing a couple of different locations and walking briskly in between shots to keep warm.

Lorraine & Chris' wedding is coming up this Spring. We met on a bright & crisp day with their three gorgeous daughters for their prewed shoot.

See you all very soon x
I photographed Alexia & Jamie's wedding in 2010 and was delighted to see them again recently to photograph their newest addition, baby Joshua.

I recently met with Suzanne & Kevin on a freezing cold afternoon at Langley Castle for their pre-wedding shoot. Langley is the venue for their wedding this spring....when hopefully it will be bit warmer :)

I'm thrilled to have Kat & Tom's beautiful wedding featured on the Ebury Collection Blog www.theeburycollection.com
Max & Honey were perfect models for a recent portrait shoot on a crisp, winter's afternoon.

Nina was one of my brides from last year - we did this shoot in the lead up to the wedding. As on the wedding day, Nina was nothing but a pleasure to photograph.

2011 has been a wonderful year for me. From working abroad, to the huge variety of jobs I have done, to meeting amazing people, this year my job has really enriched my life. Thank you to everyone that I have worked for and with...and here's to an exciting 2012 - I can't wait!
Every December Oswald and I do a little photo shoot to make Christmas cards. Over the years he has been a fairy, santa & last year adorned a favourite christmas jumper. This year he insisted that less was more and opted for a simple Christmas star.
Happy Christmas everyone X
Sarah and Rob are getting married in Spring 2012....which I'm pretty sure will be here in a flash. We met in the Autumn for their pre-wedding shoot.

Sarah & Rob, it was lovely getting to know you both a little. See you in the springtime x
For the second time this year, I recently documented the latest panel meeting for trend forecasters, Trend Bible. I love working with Jo and being amongst so many creative, successful & stylish women was a nothing but a pleasure.

I had a lovely crisp day for this recent shoot with Thomas & Louis. They were two perfect models.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing gorgeous little Imogen along with her Mum, Martha & Auntie Esther as a surprise present for her Grandma's birthday.

My last wedding of 2011 was a wonderful one to finish on. Kat & Tom were married in Alnwick & held their reception at the beautiful Chillingham Castle.
My day started with these amazing glittery shoes...

Kat looked absolutely stunning and was fabulous to photograph. The short walk to the church made for some lovely shots.

After a lovely ceremony everyone travelled by vintage bus to Chillingham Castle for the reception.

Golden leaves, pumpkins, conkers, feathers & lanterns made for a gorgeous Autumnal wedding celebration.

Some bride & groom portraits in the grounds....

Brilliant speeches in the marquee and then dancing in the castle!

Katie & Paul's wedding in North Yorkshire was filled with Autumnal lovliness. The light was golden all day and Katie and Paul had made every detail of the day absolutely beautiful.

Calm & collected, Katie did nothing but smile all day.

I LOVED the vintage transport to and from the church.

The reception was held in this gorgeous walled garden.

And the last of that lovely light for some portraits.

The marquee was filled with Autumnal tones, foliage, candles & lace. As the sun set, dinner, speeches and dancing followed.

I recently had the pleasure of doing a shoot for Kirsty Taylor, who designs and makes jewellery from her beautiful shop in Corbridge, Northumberland.

The shop is a treasure trove of loveliness and is styled wonderfully by Kirsty.

Kirsty's jewellery, and the other pieces she stocks are all stunning.

See more of Kirsty's work at www.kirstytaylorjewellery.com or in her shop in Corbridge.
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sophie & Alex's wedding in Ibiza last month. From start to finish it was a stunning day. The weather was perfect, the backdrop breath taking and Sophie & Alex were just wonderful!

Sophie's friend, bridesmaid & professional make up artist Tara was brilliant.

Sophie, as you can see was utterly gorgeous...

It was a beautiful ceremony and just amazing to have the ocean in view.

Sophie and her gorgeous girls.

Sophie & Alex were as excited as I was about getting some lovely photographs as the sun was going down. The light was incredible...

The colours and details crafted & put together by Sophie were a joy to photograph.

Delicious food, lovely speeches and some serious dancing followed.

Sophie & Alex. Thank you for entrusting me with this job. I simply loved documenting you and your gorgeous wedding. Wishing you a wonderful future xx
I recently had a gorgeous Autumnal day for a portrait shoot with these two lovely sisters, Zoe & Lola.

Wrapping up & going to feed the ducks is just perfect for photographs...

My favourite from the day...
This was a family portrait shoot I did in London earlier in the year. We had a gorgeous day for it and so headed to the nearby park.

Little Isla was gorgeous to photograph and had some fabulous smiles.

Especially when playing with Mum & Dad.

Exploring...

This TLR camera was passed onto me from my Dad and has been neglected for quite a while. I hadn't used it since I was studying photography, around six years ago - infact I hadn't shot on film at all since then. After meaning to dig it out for ages, a recent trip to Ibiza to photograph a wedding seemed a perfect time to try out a few rolls of film.

I shot a few rolls of film whilst I was away and after receiving the negatives and prints back I have been inspired to continue using this camera. I have even decided to start shooting some film at my weddings! I will by no means stop using my digital cameras but I love the idea of taking 12 frames throughout a wedding day on this camera. It forces me to work in a different way for a few reasons:
Because there are only 12 frames per roll of film each image is somehow more precious and because you can't check the back of the camera it makes me consider everything in more detail before pressing the button.
The negatives are square format which I love & this creates a different way of seeing compositions.
The view finder is on top of the camera so you shoot from the hip. This makes you really discreet whilst taking pictures and I feel it allows me to take in more of the environment when considering an image.

Here are a few from Ibiza. I'll be posting a full set from Sophie & Alex's beautiful wedding soon.

This is a double exposure - a mistake! (me not winding the film on properly) but I love it. I think it looks more like a painting than a photograph and for me sums up the romance of shooting on film.
I'm delighted to have some of my photographs featured in the current issue of Homes & Gardens magazine. They feature in an article about the fantastic Susan Green of 'The Proof of the Pudding'. I have done a couple of product & lifestyle shoots for Susan over the past couple of years and I'm thrilled to see her and her business doing so well.
Helen and John were married this September at St Mary's Church in Hexham and held their reception at the beautiful Langley Castle. Helen's gorgeous bouquet was courtesy of the ever talented Hannah of Wildflower Florist

Helen was such a stunning bride...

I love how well this photograph says 'just married'.

Langley was beautiful for photographs with Helen & John.

And then in for a fabulous set of speeches, dinner and an amazing ceilidh to get everyone on the dance floor.

Helen & John - congratulations! You are such lovely people and it's been a pleasure to get to know you xx
Anna & Tommy's wedding last month was amazing! My day started photographing Anna's beautiful bouquet made by Hannah of Wildflower Florist.

And then her gorgeous dress...

Anna, you are beautiful!

After a lovely ceremony in St Andrew's Church, Corbridge everyone headed to Anna's family home for a reception flowing with champagne and fresh oysters.

Anna with her lovely girls.

Anna & Tommy - I just loved photographing you...

Then some great speeches, delicious food & wine and lots of dancing...

Anna & Tommy - thanks for sharing your day & making me so welcome x
Sarah & Alex were married last month at the lovely Linden Hall in Northumberland.

Little Katie was an extremely cute flowergirl...

I loved the grounds at Linden, especially all the amazing trees.

Congratulations Sarah & Alex, thank you for a wonderful day xx
Nina & Oliver's wedding last month was just wonderful! Nina & Oliver are from Norway and brought a lot of their Norwegian traditions to the wedding. My day started at 9am following Oliver as he and his best man delivered champagne to all of the guests staying at Ellingham.

Nina's gorgeous bouquet was made by Helen of Bels Flowers.

I loved Nina's wellies!

Nina, you are just stunning...

The boys watching guests arrive.

A lovely ceremony in Ellingham church.

Everyone took the short walk back to Ellingham Hall which made for some great shots.

I headed off with Nina & Oliver to a nearby corn field for some lovely bride & groom portraits.

The room and tables were decorated beautifully - I especially loved the knots for each table name.

Some amazing speeches were interspersed throughout dinner. Unlike our traditional 3 wedding speeches, there must've been at least 15!...from all the family and close friends.

And more lovely traditions including kissing, standing on chairs and singing!

Finishing up with a slick first dance. Nina & Oliver thank you for a wonderful day - I loved every minute of it x
I knew Jo & Simon's wedding would be beautiful, and beautiful it was.
Jo has her own business forecasting trends and fashion and I knew she had got her wedding dress from a boutique in New York - I was very excited!

Jo's stunning dress came from Saja Boutique, New York.

Arriving at church...gorgeous little Aidan and the girls stole the limelight a bit!

A Lovely ceremony at St Andrew's church in Corbridge.

And then off to the Baltic in Newcastle for the reception. I loved Jo's design & styling of the room. Beautiful flowers by Hannah of Wildflower.

My favourite...

A lovely reception, dinner and set of speeches with amazing views onto the quayside...

Jo & Simon, thanks for having to me document your day. As I said on the day, I think the world of you both and I loved being your photographer! x
I'm very excited about Kat & Tom's wedding next month....autumn leaves, a beautiful church wedding and a castle! We met recently at Chillingham castle in Northumberland which is also the venue for their wedding reception.

The gardens and grounds at Chillingham are just beautiful and offer endless fabulous spots for photographs.

Kat & Thomas - see you both soon for what I'm sure is going to be an amazing day x
Nina and Oliver were married earlier this month in Northumberland. They live in Norway so we did their pre-wedding shoot just a few days before the wedding. We chose the Quayside in Newcastle as our location as it was a nice connection to Oliver being a sailor. I loved the stripes too! The nautical theme appeared again at the wedding with beautiful hand tied knots decorating each table....so it was a perfect location for the shoot.

Nina & Oliver - I loved photographing you & getting to know you both! Many more photographs to follow....watch this space x
Irina and Tom's recent wedding in Cumbria was beautiful from start to finish. Beginning with a stunning Vera Wang wedding dress.....and a gorgeous bride!

The heavens opened just before the ceremony as Irina was whisked into the church.

Where Tom awaited her.

A beautiful reception awaited everyone at Tom's parent's home. The marquee looked fantastic - I especially loved the Russian dolls which were a lovely link to Irina's Russian roots.

We had a wander through the gardens for some shots as everyone else headed into the marquee.

It was then time for a superb set of speeches!

And no half hearted shuffle on the dance floor - an amazing first dance that before long had everyone else joining in. As I left, the party was definitely in full swing!

Thanks for a wonderful day Irina & Tom! x
The sun came out for Michelle & Paul's wedding at Slaley Hall last month.
Michelle looked great before she even got into her dress!

Paul and the boys looked fab too when I met them for a few shots before the ceremony.

Michelle's son Jude had the proud job of escorting his Mum down the aisle.

It was early evening when we headed into the grounds for some photographs of Michelle & Paul and we got some lovely evening sunlight.

Then back in for some brilliant speeches, including a fantastic speech from Michelle.

And my day finished with the first dance.
Katie & Paul have their wedding coming up next month. I met with them at Katie's parent's home earlier this summer for their pre-wedding shoot.

This is also the venue for the wedding reception which will be amazing!

Katie & Paul....see you next month! x
This recent family portrait session involved three generations. Little Ava, the youngest, was the star of the show!

Helen & John are getting married later this month. We met a few weeks ago for their pre-wedding portrait shoot. Helen & John's little boy Thomas joined us for some of the photographs....and did steal the show a little bit, as I'm sure he will on the wedding day too!

Love that smile!

Really looking forward to seeing you all soon x
Claire and Simon were married earlier this month in Washington and held their reception at Slaley Hall.

Claire looked amazing...

A beautiful ceremony in Our Lady's Church.

We stopped enroute to Slaley for a few photographs.

Claire had designed all the stationery and table decorations herself...which were all beautiful.

Fantastic speeches.

We headed out after the speeches for some photographs of Claire and Simon in the grounds.

And then the dancing...

Congratulations Claire & Simon - I hope you had a wonderful honeymoon x
Anna & Tommy get married next month in Northumberland. I met with them recently on a lovely day in London for their pre-wedding shoot.

I couldn't resist the old red phone box

Anna & Tommy - you are both gorgeous! Can't wait for the wedding x
The sun shone all day for Kate and Craig's wedding last month.
My day started by meeting Kate and the girls in the hairdressers.

Three very excited bridesmaids couldn't wait to get into their dresses.

Kate looked stunning as we headed to Hexham Abbey.

A beautiful reception awaited everyone at Newton Village Hall.

We headed out for a stroll for some photographs of Kate & Craig.

Then after a delicious dinner came the speeches...

..and the dancing.

Congratulations Kate & Craig - thank you for sharing your day with me xx
Here are a few photographs from Teddy's first portrait session.

With big sister Poppy who I photographed when she was Teddy's age.

Tiring work...

I met with Michelle & Paul on a red hot day at the beach for their pre-wedding shoot. We had coffee, walked on the beach then into the park and finished with an ice cream...perfect!

Camilla and David were married last month in the Scottish borders near Camilla's beautiful family home.

Camilla was effortlessly stunning and elegant.

The rain didn't spoil anything as we came out of the church and took the short walk to the marquee...

...which looked spectacular.

A break in the weather allowed for a few photographs in the gardens.

It was then back to the marquee for the fun bits - speeches, dinner & dancing!

I met with Jo, Simon & their little boy Aidan on a blustery day at Bamburgh recently for their pre wedding portrait shoot. Aidan was an absolute star only needing to stop a couple of times for a crisp break :)

It wasn't exactly balmy but it was dry so we headed to the beach to make sandcastles!

I loved Jo & Aidan's matching Converses!

Jo & Simon - thank you for a lovely morning. I can't wait to photograph your wedding! Lots of love xxx
Irina and Tom's wedding in Cumbria is fast approaching. We met recently in Edinburgh, on a gorgeous sunny evening for some pre-wedding pictures.

They brought along their vintage bicycles which were perfect props for the shoot.

Some beautiful evening light...

I can't wait for the wedding later this month as I just know it will be oozing style and these two are going to look amazing!
Sarah & Dave's wedding last month was simply stunning and Sarah's lovely Jimmy Choos were a great way to start the day!

And a stunning dress and bouquet to match.

I met with the boys before they headed up to the church.

Sarah looked amazing as she arrived at Minsteracres.

We stopped on the beautiful Sequoia lined avenue with the coolest wedding car I've ever seen.

Then back to Sarah's family home for a reception with a teepee marquee which I absolutely loved inside & out!

I then whisked Sarah and Dave away from their guests. Not for long, but the 10 minutes in this nearby poppy field was definitely worth it.

And then back for speeches and dancing!

Kate and Craig had a red hot July day for their pre wedding shoot. They have since had their wedding day which was also fabulous weather. Here are a few from our portrait session.

I met with Claire and Simon on a lovely summer evening by the river in Wylam for their pre-wedding shoot.

The light was gorgeous and Claire & Simon were perfect models.

Jenni and Robert chose to use the family farm as the backdrop for their portrait session with me last month. It was a lovely summer evening and was fantastic having such a beautiful landscape to use for the shoot. Jenni and Robert were naturals and needed little direction from me.

The dogs were keen to get involved too so joined in on the shoot!

This was a recent shoot for North East based Dockleaf Developments to update their image portfolio.

A bright sunny day and immaculate interiors made for a lovely shoot.

Stacia and Alan were married last month at Hexham Abbey. It was one of those grey, wet June days!...but it didn't spoil anything about the day.

Stacia's dress was amazing - a true fairy tale dress.

The service at the Abbey was beautiful.

And then it was up to Slaley Hall for the reception, starting with the speeches.

After dinner the rain eased off so we headed out into the grounds for some photographs.

The evening reception then got under way, started off by some fabulous dancers.

This was a recent shoot for the fabulous Northumberland based pudding company 'The Proof of the Pudding'.

All the puddings are homemade in the farmhouse kitchen and are all delicious!

The raspberry & almond pudding is amazing and definitely my favourite.
Sarah & Dave's pre-wedding shoot was only a few days before their big day so the buzz of the wedding was definitely in the air.

We went to the beautiful tree lined avenue at Minsteacres which was also the venue for their wedding ceremony.

The wedding which followed was simply stunning...photographs of that to follow soon.
Lindsay & Chris were married last month at the lovely Redworth Hall in Co. Durham. It was a bit of a wet day but it dried up when we needed it to and so everything ran perfectly.
Lindsay looked amazing and had put so much thought into all the details of the day. It was a beautiful wedding - thank you Lindsay & Chris.

The boys before the ceremony.

We ventured in to the grounds for some photographs of Lindsay & Chris on their own.

Back in the Great Hall for dinner and speeches.

And then the dancing. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Tulip! x
I had a gorgeous summer evening for this recent family portrait session. I also had the smiliest, happiest little boy making my job an easy one!

I was in Manchester last month for a property shoot of a set of new developments. We had some fabulous models for the shoot to add a lifestyle feel to the images.

I recently had an amazing opportunity of taking a trip to Virginia, USA. It was a fantastic week of sunshine, fabulous company, riding, great food and lots of my most favourite thing - photography. Here are a few of my favourites...

On my last day I happened upon this beautiful baby fawn, who must have been only days old. It was a wonderful end to a brilliant week.
I met Katy several years ago when I was studying photography at college and she was working there. Since then we have worked together on some weddings, here and abroad, become good friends, and have now photographed each other weddings. Katy is one of the loveliest people I have ever met and is a very talented photographer. She photographed our wedding last year and did an amazing job - as she always does.
Katy & Tim, you are a perfect match :) Thank you for entrusting me with this job, I hope I have done your beautiful day justice.

My day started with photographing the stunning details and flowers. The beautiful flowers were by Katy's good friend and fantastic florist, Helen of Bels Flowers.

Effortlessly stunning in her dress by Jenny Packham. Katy got her dress from Sarah at Mia Bridal, whom she spoke very highly of.

Just gorgeous.

As were all the girls!

And the groom too :)

Heading into the church with Dad.

The ceremony was lovely. The vicar's sermon was great and has stuck in my head ever since. Katy & Tim were just visibly happy to become Mr & Mrs.

And a stylish exit in an Aston Martin no less!
Aidan drove me and Lottie (thank you for being my right hand lady Lottie) to the reception and had a job to keep up with the bride & groom.

The reception was at Katy's parents beautiful home in Wark. Delicious canopes by Katy's friend Emily Botham, champagne and not a drop of rain. It did actually rain later on but not until we had done the photographs.

So before the rain came I had some time with Mr & Mrs Douglass.

It was a bit chilly but Katy just grabbed a cardy and some Uggs and we headed through the field down to the river - that's my girl :)

Can I say gorgeous again?!

The marquee and tables, as with everything else were done with style and elegance and were a joy to photograph.

And then the speeches, which were hilarious.

A fab first dance! Katy - you owned that dancefloor :)

Congratulations Katy & Tim. Lots of love xxx
The second part of Amina and Afzal's wedding was amazing. I loved it. It was full of colour, tradition, emotion and fun. It was a treat for me to photograph!
I started with Amina's preparations.

Amina was stunning...again. The detail in the dress and jewellery was just beautiful.

The ceremony was a whirlwind of drums and dotting between Amina and Afzal as they were in separate rooms to start with. A big thank you to Dora who helped me with the logistics of being in two places at once.

And then into the speeches.

Next was the traditional stealing of Afzal's shoes, for which he had to pay a pretty high price to get them back! Amina's cousin was chief stealer and negotiator and did a great job.

It was then an emotional goodbye between Amina and her family.

I was lucky to then have some time with Amina and Afzal for some more photographs in the grounds.

Amina and Afzal - thank you for having me as part of your day. You are lovely and I loved being your photographer! x
I am going to blog Amina & Afzal's wedding as two separate posts, as their wedding had two segments to it. The whole day was held at Slaley Hall, the first part was the western ceremony, for which Amina wore white....beautifully.

Amina was absolutely stunning...

I arrived at Slaley and met with the boys.

The ceremony, as the whole day was, full of emotion and lovely to document.

As ever, Slaley offered up some great locations for photographs.

After some shots in the grounds we headed back inside to get ready for the next part of the day......more photographs to follow.
Stacia & Alan are getting married this weekend in Hexham Abbey. Their reception is going to be at Slaley Hall which is where we met a few weeks ago for their pre wedding shoot.

It was a lovely sunny evening...which I'm hoping will be repeated for them this weekend.

I've heard a lot about Stacia's dress which I'm dying to see and photograph! Watch this space for the wedding photographs.
A couple of weeks ago I had a glorious spring day for a property shoot in Cheshire.

The shoot was to produce a set of images to help sell the house, but also for a keepsake of what was a family home for 40 years.

A clear blue sky, lilac and wisteria blooms helped make the house and gardens look fantastic.

Amina & Afzal are getting married later this month so we recently met up for their pre wedding portrait shoot.

It was a beautiful day and they were both fantastic to photograph.

Wearing huge smiles for the whole shoot, they both looked gorgeous.

Amina & Afzal - see you very soon! I can't wait x
I met Amy, Graeme & Bella at Bamburgh last week for their portrait session, which was a gift for Amy's birthday.

Bella - the Beagle, stole the show a little bit! And had lots of tricks to show off if there was a promise of a treat.

But it's tiring work...

Beautiful - Bella.
Including the photographs I took of Lucy when she was pregnant, this was the third time I have photographed Jasper and he's only 4 months old!

It was Jasper's Christening a couple of weeks ago and it was a pleasure for me to document such a lovely day.

He was so good and looked adorable in his gown.

It was a gorgeous sunny day and all of Lucy and Tom's friends and family were there to share in the celebrations. Poppy and Harry being two of the cutest!
Lindsay & Chris are getting married this summer. We went to St Mary's Lighthouse near Whitley Bay for their prewed portrait shoot.

Chris and Lindsay chose this spot as it was here, almost a year ago to the day that Chris proposed.

It was a gorgeous sunny day so we had a walk on the beach & up into the dunes.

Lindsay told me a few details about the wedding day & dress while Chris was out of earshot. It sounds like it's going to be a fabulous wedding! Roll on June :)
My friend Lottie, who is coming to the end of her photography degree in Cambridge, spent a few days with me last week.

She helped me out on a portrait shoot, with some editing and also cooked dinner for me twice!
In return, we went to the beach one evening for a portrait shoot with her faithful friend Diesel.

The light was beautiful, as was Lottie.

It wasn't quite as serene as the photographs suggest :) Diesel was very busy chasing sticks and other dogs and Lottie was mostly on the end of a speeding lead!

But he was very good really and stopped a couple of times to pose.

Thanks for coming to help me out Lottie....love you xxx
I met with Jane and her family last week to photograph Monty the dog and her three gorgeous children.

We got wellies on and had a walk, splash in the puddles, a climb on the rocks and a bug hunt!

Monty was a fantastic model too and at only six months old, he proved very well behaved.

It was lovely to be out in the fresh air photographing the children & Monty enjoying a Sunday morning outdoors.
This was Katy & Tim's pre wedding portrait shoot on a bright cool day by the sea.

Although Katy & Tim are good friends of mine...the pressure was on! Katy is a fabulous photographer and also photographed my wedding.

However, they made my job very easy and we had a fab location on the beach at Low Newton in Northumberland.

Lovely light and old, flaky boats - perfect!

Gorgeous, happy & in love...

Cannot wait for the wedding x
Amy and Bob chose a lovely weathered brown leather for their wedding album which arrived last week.

One of my favourite pages in the album...

*I just heard from Amy that their album arrived
"..our wedding album arrived yesterday - we love it, thank you so much!"
I recently did some work for Daybreak, a fantastic charity based in Northumberland. They provide support, skills training, work experience and sport and leisure activities for adults with learning disabilities.
I was to document some of the many activities and projects at Daybreak for their new website.

I started by visiting their site at Minsteracres, where there was a huge array of activities going on. There was planting in the green house, a music class, computer class and rounding up of the chickens!

I then went down to the site in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle and saw art, cooking and computer classes.
I met so many lovely people throughout the day. I could see immediately how much good work this charity is doing to help make peoples lives richer and I'm looking forward to continuing to work with and support Daybreak in the future.
Come and see me this Sunday, 20th March at Slaley Hall's annual wedding fayre. I'll be there with lot's of other suppliers, including florists, cake makers, car suppliers and bridal wear.

Hope to see you there.
My first wedding of 2011 was a brilliant one! Rachel and Richard were married at the fabulous Woodhill Hall, near Otterburn last month.

Everything that Rachel wore was gorgeous.

As was she...

Richard and boys were getting ready nearby so I went to catch some of their preparations

We had a quick walk down the lovely tree lined driveway before the ceremony.

The ceremony was in the Orangery and included a fantastic sing along to Barry Manilow.

'Just Married'.

We dodged a few showers and headed into the grounds for some photographs.

I loved photographing Rachel & Richard...they were so natural in front of the camera and looked gorgeous.

The amazing cake was made by Rachel herself. She is about to set up her own business making wedding cakes as gorgeous as her own.

Great speeches in the Orangery.

The fab band 'Laughing Jacks' got the evening party started.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Morley! x
My brother Tom and his girlfriend Vikki have just got a new addition to their household....Percy. He is a 7 week old Jack Russell puppy and has now had his first portrait shoot!

He's just a tiny little dot but already has so much character, and is of course, absolutely gorgeous.

Given the chance, I would have popped him in my pocket and taken him home!

Welcome to the world little Percy...love from Aunty Rach x
I recently met up again with Jo and her team at the Trend Bible in Newcastle, to document one of their trend panels.

It was a hub of style & creativity. I spent time documenting their meeting, mood boards and got some informal portraits of the girls.
After photographing Lucy and Tom in December, I met with them again last week to photograph the newest addition to the family, Jasper.

At only 4 weeks old, Jasper seemed a bit puzzled by me and my camera, but proved to be a perfect little model.

A proud Mum....

Almost a smile there!

Portrait of a family.
I met with Rachel and Richard at Woodhill Hall in Northumberland for some portraits in preparation for their wedding next month.

We met at Woodhill Hall as this is the venue for their wedding, and what a fab venue it is, and beautiful grounds to match.

Despite what they told me....Rachel & Richard were naturals in front of the camera and made my job very easy! Can't wait for the wedding :) x
I met with Lucy and Tom just before Christmas to photograph them and their baby to be......

A couple of weeks later Lucy and Tom became the proud parents of Jasper.

I'm meeting up with all three of them soon to photograph Jasper with his Mum and Dad.....I can't wait to meet him! Congratulations Lucy & Tom xx
A beautiful castle in snowy surroundings was the setting for Amy and Bob's wedding earlier this month.

Amy was a joy to photograph and looked absolutely stunning.

Bob with the boys.

And a lovely ceremony, with Amy and Bob beaming the whole way through.

We headed into the grounds for some photographs.

Amy, I love this photograph of you. A fabuolous smile!

And I loved the girls in their purple Hunters.

Back into the warmth for some great speeches.

And some nifty moves on the dance floor :)

And what better way to end the day than with some amazing fireworks and mulled wine.
Louise and Mark's wedding was on a snowy December day at Helmswell Court in Lincolnshire.

The candlelit ceremony was also held at Helmswell in the gorgeous drawing room.

The light was perfect....that lovely winter sun, low in the sky, twinkling off the snow.

Louise didn't bat an eyelid at spending some time outdoors in sub zero temperatures, and even decided she didn't really need to wear her bolero.......what a star! It was worth it to get these photographs.

My favourite shot.

And then we were into the warmth of the hall for a set of fab speeches.

And dancing of course to finish.
I have photographed William & Ben a couple of times over the past few years. Recently I met up with the whole family, this time to include the newest addition, little James.

And he was an absolute little star...

I love those toes!
Louise and Mark are getting married next month in Lincolnshire. We met up in the North East a few weeks ago for their portrait session in preparation.

Louise used to help her Dad with his stall on Armstrong bridge when she was little so it was a nice backdrop for some of the photos.

And the autumn leaves added a lovely flash of colour.
Donna and John were married last month at Longhirst Hall in Northumberland.
The flowers and colour scheme were gorgeous autumnal shades to match the October day.

The boys before the ceremony.........

........which was lovely.

Despite a spot of rain we got into the grounds for some photographs.

All three speeches were excellent....poetry, tears and laughter!

And as I left, the dance floor was in full swing...with all ages having a ball.
Niki and Dougie were married at the beginning of this month at Langley Castle in Northumberland.

After a wet start to the day, the day kept getting better and after the ceremony, the rain had stopped, giving way to some lovely Autumn light.

Niki was a stunning bride.

A lovely intimate ceremony held in the Castle.

The room looked beautiful, with a fantastic pick & mix table and a fab cake featuring Mable the Boxer dog.

And some great speeches.

I especially loved the first dance. It was The Hokey Cokey with Niki & Doug in the middle (and me) and everyone else around the edge - brilliant!
This wedding I didn't photograph....it was mine. I married Aidan Rose on the 3rd of September in Hexham Abbey, and thought I'd share a few of the photographs with you!
Our photographer was the fabulous Katy Melling. Katy is an amazing photographer and also a good friend of mine. I am also very excited to be photographing her wedding next May.
I had been praying for sunshine on a daily basis for the previous 6 months or so...and they were answered - it was a hazy morning and by the time we were on our way to the church the sun was shining... beating down actually. It was a truly gorgeous day.
My hair was done by the lovely Emma Hill. I met Emma after photographing her wedding last year. My beautiful bouquets were done by Hannah Price of Wildflower, who I can't reccommend highly enough!
And my dress was from the fantastic Rosina Brown in Stocksfield.
The day started at home with Mum & Dad..........

Heading to the Abbey with Dad and my bridesmaids and coming down the aisle as a married woman with Aidan.

My lovely godson Corie...who looked adorable in his suit and later in the evening was centre stage on the dance floor.

My new parents-in-law and gorgeous husband! The kilts are Northumbrian Tartan and came from The Nothumbrian Tartan Company

My beautiful bridesmaids and flower girl. Vik, Lottie, Ali, Cat (all the way from New Zealand!) Liz, Kath and Claudia

Of course Oswald came to the wedding...and of course he wore a bow tie!
We stopped enroute to our reception for some photographs next to a corn field.

Our amazing car was thanks to our friend Laurence who was also our driver! Whizzing along the country lanes with the top down was breezy but fantastic!

Our reception was a marquee at High House Farm Brewery. It was the perfect venue.
My Mum, Sylvia was a full time 'wedding decoration maker' for the 6 months leading up to the wedding. She made 400 ft of bunting, hand printed and lettered name place cards, bows for the chairs, lace candle holders, table plan, tables names....I could go on. She was incredible and it resulted in a beautiful, magical room in which to celebrate our wedding. Dad did his bit too and grew from seed, hundreds of sweetpeas to go on all the tables.

Aidan's Gran made the exquisite flowers for the top of our cake. Each petal of each flower was hand made and hand painted.

We headed out with Katy later on to get some more photographs as the sun was going down

The light was lovely.......

It was the best day of my life. I loved every minute of it, and I love being Mrs Rose - I love you Aidan.

I'm positive that I will become a better wedding photographer now that I have experienced it myself. I now really understand what a special day it is and it makes me love my job even more.
I met Amy and Bob at the end of August for their portrait session in preparation for their wedding this December

They choose to go to Bamburgh in Northumberland not only for the beautiful setting but this is also where Bob proposed to Amy

Amy and Bob are very easy to photograph! They are so visibly in love with each other and needed no direction from me

Can't wait for the wedding guys! Lots of love xx
Donna and Robert were married at the end of August at The Church of St John The Baptist in Newcastle. There was a bit of rain in the morning but it turned into a beautiful day in time for the wedding.

Donna was calm and collected and looked beautiful

An amazing Rolls Royce got Donna to the church

The church and the ceremony were beautiful and the choir was just amazing

Donna and Robert about to head for Blackfriars for their reception

It was a superb venue for the reception. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and it was such a lovely intimate atmosphere

We had a walk around the nearby cobbled streets for some portraits

Great speeches - with an additional speech from Donna. I like it when brides say a few words too :)

And everone was dancing by the time I left

Donna & Robert.......thank you for making me feel like one of your guests and for being such a pleasure to photograph! x
Nanette & Mark were married last month at the beautiful Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire

The details were stunning and Nanette's dress was perfect

A lovely intimate ceremony

The venue was fabulous and made even lovlier by Nanette and Mark's attention to detail with the table and room decorations

There is no such thing as bad weather....it's just about having the right clothes. Or in this case, footwear. Nanette was prepared with her wellies so we braved the rain with a couple of brollies and got some lovely shots in the grounds

I must also thank my dear friend Lottie, who was a guest at the wedding but also kept me and the camera dry under an umbrella - thanks Lottie!

We found some shelter under the trees and despite the rain the light was perfect

Brilliant speeches

And a fabulous salsa band for the evening's dancing

Nanette & Mark I hope Malaysia was fantastic...thanks for sharing your day with me....x
Julie and Lee got married last month at Gosforth Parish Church and then held their reception at Horton Grange

Julie was a beautiful bride.....

Lee and all the boys looked great too

Julie walked down the aisle with her Dad to a string quartet playing....Both Julie & the ceremony were lovely and serene

I was met by an amazing cake and beautiful dining room at Horton Grange

Julie and Lee needed little direction from me....

And the grounds at Horton Grange offered endless spots for photographs

The speeches were fab. Lee's best man was Julie's brother, who gave a great speech and a lovely insight into both the bride and the groom

There was time for a few more photographs as the rain had cleared and some lovely evening light came along

And the dancing began, with Jason Isaacs providing superb singing & entertainment
Isla & James were married last month in the beautiful Kirkby Fleetham, North Yorkshire. I loved being part of this wedding...Isla & James were so visibly in love and together and it was a privilege for me to document.

A very proud father..........

St Mary's church was just lovely, with an arch of sunflowers welcoming everyone and James with his guard of honour looked amazing.

The church was packed, and the ceremony was lovely....Isla & James beamed all the way through.

We were able to go into some private gardens just behind the church which were quite magical.

Gorgeous..........

The reception was held at Isla's parent's beautiful home nearby. Sunshine, champagne & canopes!

Time for a few more photographs around the gardens.

My favourite......

There was so much colour throughout the whole day - the cake was especially amazing.

Great speeches. With a brilliant slideshow made by Isla's Dad.

And a fabulous choreographed first dance.
Emma & David were married in Jemond Dene House in Newcastle last month.

Emma was such a beautiful bride, with her stunning Ian Stewart dress, from Rosina Brown in Stocksfield.

The ceremony........

Admittedly it rained all day...but neither Emma or David were phased and both just got on with having an amazing day.

Emma had put a massive amount of effort into finishing touches for the tables. It was worth it Emma....the room looked gorgeous.

We ventured out with the umbrella and got some lovely quirky shots. Having to lift her dress meant we got Emma's fab shoes in shot which is a bonus I think!

The speeches were great. I especially loved Emma's Grandad's impromptu words, which had the room rolling with laughter.

And the dancing, which was in full swing as I left.
Kirsty & Daffyd were married earlier this month at Guyzance Hall in Northumberland.
I am a sucker for photographing details (shoes, dress, flowers etc..) so I was in heaven when I got to Kirsty's room.

Kirsty was a stunning bride.

The boys were pretty dashing too.

The ceremony was held outside in the gardens. I love Daffyd's face as he watches Kirsty arrive.

There was a bit of a shower towards the end so we had to dash under cover. But within minutes the rain had stopped and everyone was back outside enjoying a champage reception.

We got caught in a torrential downpour not long after this shot....but were swiftly rescued by a team of umbrella clad ushers.

The speeches were great and Daffyd's two brothers had the room in stitches with their slideshow of old photographs.

The sun came out again so we grabbed a few more photographs in the lovely evening light.

And the dancing............

Kirsty and Daffyd are the lovliest of couples. It has been a pleasure getting to know you both and to document your wedding day. I hope you are having the most amazing time in NZ. See you both soon x
Sally and Jack were married at the end of last month in Embleton in Northumberland. The reception was held at Sally's parent's nearby farm with a beautiful marquee in the garden.

The church was completely packed out. There was a little downpour whilst the ceremony was taking place and after that the sun shone all day.

We stopped enroute back to the house for some photographs of Sally & Jack. What can I say.....these two are just amazing to photograph!

Perhaps my favourite shot of the day..........

Green was definitely the theme. With hand made bunting and green apples for each name place, the marquee looked lovely. Sally, I have to admit that I was actually taking notes for my own wedding!

We stole a few more photographs around the farm and found a green door - perfect.

All three speeches were brilliant.

And as the sun set the dancing began. Sally & Jack - thank you for sharing your day with me and making me feel so welcome. I absolutely loved photographing your wedding and I hope Italy was belissimo!
I hadn't seen Dan and Sarah since school....which is quite a while ago now! They are now Mr & Mrs Gray and have two beautiful children, Orin and Maddie.

We went to the park for the portrait session which was a perfect backdrop.

The ice cream van hovering in the distance was a good way of keeping Orin's interest -and actually mine too :)

Dan & Sarah - you have such a lovely family and it was my pleasure to document it for you x
Isla and James are getting married this weekend in North Yorkshire. We met a couple of weeks ago for their pre wedding portrait session.

The setting of the wedding and all of the details Isla & James told me about makes me certain this will be a superb day.

See you both on Saturday!
Last year I photographed Zoe and Ben's first pairs of shoes which were printed onto canvases for Debby and Fraser's home.

This year we met up to photograph Zoe and Ben in person - they were perfect little models.

I travelled to Cambridge last month to photograph Sarah and Anthony's wedding. I met Sarah through her sister Lottie, who is a very dear friend of mine, a soulmate infact :)

Sarah has impeccable taste so I knew the details would be fabulous...and they were.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Sarah you are gorgeous.

The ceremony was beautiful, and even hilarious in parts. I shall say no more....Ruth and David.

Longstowe Hall was the venue for the reception, and wow, what a venue. It was absolutely stunning, a photographer's dream and the staff were superbly helpful.

Sarah with her lovely bridesmaids, Lottie, Amy, Hannah and Bridesman Chris.

The grounds were overwhelming with so many amazing places to take photographs. I could have gone on all day!

Sarah and Anthony are expecting their first baby this September, so I suppose he's in these photographs too!

The speeches were as all great speeches should be. Filled with laughter and a few tears. Sarah's brother Tom, who is a comedian was MC and also did a speech which was hilarious.

And then the dancing.... I even got up there myself later on but thankfully there are no photographs of that!

Sarah and Anthony - thank you for sharing your day with me. I hope you have had a wonderful honeymoon and I look forward to seeing you both soon xxx
Emma & David are doing what all sensible people should do....having a holiday before their wedding next month. I met with them before they went away for some portraits in preparation for the big day.

It was a grey drizzly evening when we met for the portraits, so we just worked around the weather and managed fine!

David's son Luke joined in and kept us all entertained with his various party tricks!

I hope you've had a lovely holiday...........See you both very soon!
I met with Jo recently to photograph her with her lovely black Labrador Max

I grew up with a black Labrador. Along with Jack Russells...they are my most favourite dogs!

Max has such a nice nature and was beautiful to photograph. It was also lovely to capture Jo and Max together....dogs truly are a man/woman's best friend I think.
I met with Julie and Lee a couple of weeks ago for their portrait session, in preparation for their wedding next month.

We had a lovely sunny evening at St Mary's Lighthouse...we were however almost caught out by the tide coming in really fast!

The light was perfect and we found some great spots for photographs.

Such a gorgeous couple :)

Julie and Lee - I can't wait for the wedding and to document your day for you. See you soon!
I met with Donna and Robert a couple of weeks ago for their pre wedding portrait session. We used Robert's Mum's fabulous garden as the location for the shoot.

Donna and Robert have been together since school. I think their lovely relationship really shows in these photographs.

Not long until the wedding day now - see you both very soon!
Nanette and Mark are getting married next month in Northamptonshire. The venue, Dodmoor House looks fabulous and I'm really excited to be working there.

We met in Sheffield where Nanette and Mark live, for their portrait session a couple of weeks ago.

The light in the park was lovely and we found some fab spots for photographs.

From the snippets I've heard from Nanette & Mark, the wedding is going to be brilliant! Check back at the end of August to see the wedding photographs.
James and John's Grandma arranged for me to do some portraits of the boys. We met on a sunny afternoon and in between playing football, captured some photographs in the garden.

They were real little stars and lovely to photograph.
Alexia and Jamie were married at the lovely St Alban's church in Earsdon last month.

The ceremony was beautiful....with not a dry eye in the house.

The weather was fantastic. After confetti outside the church everyone headed to Guyzance Hall for the reception.

The grounds, as ever, offered up endless opportunities for photographs.

Alexia and Jamie spent all their time together on the day smiling and laughing - it's a pleasure to document such a happy couple!

The speeches were brilliant, with an especially impressive delivery from the best man! The whole room gave him a standing ovation!

And the dancing was in full swing by the time I left for the day.
Kirsty and Daffyd are getting married next month at the lovely Guyzance Hall. I met with them recently at their beautiful home in Yorkshire for their portrait session in preparation.

Mac, the black labrador was included - of course.

Kirsty and Daffyd, you are pleasure to be around.....and to photograph. I can't wait for the wedding!
Mr & Mrs Ord have just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Their son arranged a portrait session with me as a gift, to celebrate this momentus occaison.

I am getting married myself this year....and I hope so much that I will have a photograph like the one above in 50 years time!
I met with Sally & Jack a couple of weeks ago for their portrait session ahead of their wedding next month. They are getting married in Embleton and then back to Sally's parents house for a marquee reception.

It was a red hot day when we met up, and we had no problem finding some beautiful spots for photographs.

Sally & Jack -you were fabulous to photograph...I can't wait for the wedding.

It was a gloriously sunny day for Jennifer & Michael's wedding at Langley Castle earlier this month.
Jennifer's dress and shoes were stunning.

The ceremony....

The gorgeous weather allowed for a lovely outdoor reception in front of the castle.

Langley's lovely grounds gave us lots of great back drops for photographs.

Jennifer & Michael - you were an absolute pleasure to be around and photograph :)

We finished off Jennifer & Michael's portraits as all the guests headed upstairs for the Wedding Breakfast & Speeches.

The speeches were lovely - Michael's best 'man' was his Sister who was fantastic.

I left for the day with the brilliant band in full swing.
My friends Alicia & Tom were married last month in Lymm, Cheshire. I was there as a guest, but as their photographer was with Tom throughout the morning I arranged to go and see Alicia getting ready.

Alicia making the finishing touches with her two bridesmaids, Ellie & Natalie.

Beautiful sisters....

The girls...

Alicia & her Mum, Jan.

And a lovely moment with Dad.

Alicia, you are gorgeous.

I couldn't resist grabbing a couple of photos of the first dance.

Alicia & Tom - thank you for a lovely day. Can't wait to see you both soon xxx
Elizabeth and Chris were married at the end of May at the beautiful Alnwick Garden. There was a bit of rain earlier in the day but the sun was out in time for a lovely reception after the service in the gardens.

Elizabeth looked stunning as did her little bridesmaid Sophie.

Chris - you did too :)

The ceremony.......

The flowers were done by Hannah of Wildflower and were beautiful, as her work always is.

The gardens offer endless opportunities for photographs.

The walled garden......

Elizabeth & Chris organised a treasure hunt for all their guests whilst we were doing some photographs. It involved finding rubber ducks that were hidden throughout the gardens. It was such a great idea - we kept seeing people running with ducks in hand to find the next clue!

We were just in time to catch the newly planted tulips in bloom.

and the speeches were brilliant!

Elizabeth & Chris - your wedding day was truly lovely. I hope you had a perfect honeymoon.....see you soon x
It was Carinna and Jethro's wedding last weekend. The weather was fabulous and the whole day was relaxed, full of fun and a real joy to photograph.

The ceremony was at St George's church in Jesmond, which was beautiful.

All the guests, including the bride & groom travelled from the church to Otterburn Tower Hotel for the reception, in an old double decker. Cakes and eye spy kept everone entertained enroute!

With a four piece band playing, Pimms and games on the lawn, it was a brilliant reception at Otterburn.

And endless great spots for photographs.

The evening was in full swing as I fininshed for the day. A rock and roll band had everyone on the dance floor and the hog roast smelled amazing!
Alexia & Jamie are getting married next month at the beautiful Guyzance Hall in Northumberland. I met with them and Alexia's son Jamie a couple of weeks ago, for a walk along Hadrian's Wall for their portrait session.

Kenzie came along too and had a 'mini portrait shoot' of his own.
Elizabeth and Chris are getting married at the end of this month at The Alnwick Garden. We met a couple of weeks ago for their portrait session in preparation.

The portraits were done in and around the stables where Elizabeth keeps her horse Ricky.....who joined us for the session.

I can't wait for the wedding at Alnwick and we are hoping for the cherry orchard's new field of tulips to be out in full bloom.

I grew up living next door to Michelle and her family and she now has a family of her own - little Sam, being the star of the show. I called round last week to see them all and take some family portraits. Sam was in his element just tootling around the garden, investigating leaves and twigs.

Being tickled and thrown up in the air by Dad brought out the smiles.
A couple of weeks ago I met with Sam and her family to do a surprise portrait session for her husband's birthday.

We did the portraits at the family home in Cheshire which made it easy to include the two dogs and two rabbits too!

Even little daisy was involved, who was less than a week old!
Jennifer and Michael are getting married this June at Langley Castle in Northumberland. I met with them recently at their home in Stafford for a portrait session in preparation for the big day.

I also got to meet their gorgeous six month old daughter, Florence, who was also part of the portraits.

This was the third time I have photographed Archie, but this time it was with the two dogs, Barney & Horlicks aswell.

I first photographed Archie just after his first birthday, and he will be 3 this summer. It's so wonderful to document families as they grow, and the nicest part of what I do is meeting so many lovely people.

Sarah and Anthony are getting married this July, and holding their reception at the beautiful Cambridgeshire venue of Longstowe Hall. We met at Longstowe so we could have a look around and get some ideas.
What a stunning place it is - I absolutely can't wait to work there!

We then took a walk around Grantchester where Sarah and Anthony will get married, and then headed into Cambridge itself.

And Sarah ..... you are gorgeous!
Carinna and Jethro are getting married in May so this was their portrait session with me in preparation. We chose to go into the depths of Northumberland, near Rothbury as this is where Jethro proposed. It was a gorgeous spring day, with lovely light...perfect for our portrait session.

I recently did some promotional shots for an exciting new shop which has just opened in Hexham. Dillies specialise in Chocolates, Wine & Flowers - but the sort of thing you won't find in a supermarket.

The beautiful handmade chocolates can be supplied in amazing handcrafted chocolate boxes.

It is such a lovely thing to really document people's lives. I photographed Poppy's Mum & Dad's wedding in 2008 and have since taken portraits of their Chocolate Labradors when they were puppies and then last year, their puppies.

So this is Poppy. The newest addition to the Anderson family.

I am also very proud to say that I am one of Poppy's God Parents. Welcome to the world Poppy :) Love from Aunty Rach xx

Chris and Deborah were married at Slaley Hall at the end of January. It was a beautiful crisp sunny day, gorgeous light...and a truly lovely bride and groom. Chris had been for an early morning run before I even arrived at Slaley, and was looking model-esque from the first photograph as he strode down the hallway!

The ceremony, held in the Priestman room, was intimate and lovely...with hardly a dry eye in the house.

Deb & Chris.....you are both gorgeous! See you soon...I hope you are having an amazing holiday x
This was another portrait session I did before Christmas as a surprise present.
Willow is a gorgeous black labrador. We did the portraits at her home and garden and produced a lovely framed enlargement as a Christmas gift.

I photographed Minty just before Christmas as a surprise gift for her owner. It was the first day the snow fell and the light was beautiful with a low winter sun poking through the trees.
She was quite a natural in front of the camera!

Etti and Jeremy were married earlier this month in the village of Langham in Rutland. The lovely winter sun shone long enough for us to get some photographs outside of the church and the rest of the day was a hoot. With superb speeches, an ice vodka fountain and lots of dancing and merriment.

Etti & Jeremy are getting married next month in the beautiful Oakham in Rutland. I travelled down last week to see them for their portrait session in preparation for the wedding. We included Frodo the dog and their three horses Kenny, Bobby and Beau Diddly as they are of course all part of the family! I love photographing people in their own environment and in this case it was out in the fields with the dog & horses. See you both next month, minus wellies and animals! :)

After seeing how we photographed Archies first shoes for a canvas, Debby decided to do the same for her children Zoe & Ben's first shoes. It's such a good idea and they look great as canvases on the wall.

I had a the pleasure of simultaneously working and eating puddings this week. I went to see Susan and her team who run The Proof of the Pudding, a fantastic pudding company just outside of Alnwick. We set out to capture the people behind the puddings, including Tristan, Susan's youngest son who was the catalysyt for her starting the business 8 years ago.
Susan's puddings can be bought at varous stockists throughout the region and online at www.theproofofthepudding.co.uk They are AMAZING!

It wasn't until I met with Penny & Simon to photograph their 4 month old black Labrador that we realised I had already photographed him when he was very little, before he went to live with his new Mum & Dad - See this previous post. What a small world! It was lovely to see Rupert as he is turning into such a handsome chap, and is as photogenic as ever :)

Michelle & Andrew were married last week at the beautiful Alnwick gardens. A combination of the Autumn leaves and the gorgeous flowers by Wildflower filled the day, and the photographs with beautiful colours. Michelle & Andrew - congratulations, I thoroughly enjoyed being part of your day.

This is the third time I have photographed Leanne. On this occasion it was for some up to date headshots for her portfolio (Leanne is an actress). She is a natural in front of the camera and is always a pleasure to work with.

Deb & Chris are getting married at the beginning of next year at Slaley Hall. We headed to the beach for their portrait session, stopping enroute on a lovely tree lined road. They are both brilliant in front of the camera and a total pleasure to work with. I look forward to the wedding in January :)

This is my favourite time of year, I love seeing the leaves change and feeling the shift of the seasons. So the prospect of photographing Michelle & Andrew's wedding next month at Alnwick Gardens is very exciting! It is a such a beautiful venue for a wedding and we are hoping for one of those gorgeous crisp Autumn days with a backdrop of golden and red leaves. We did their portrait session there a couple of weeks ago and only scraped the surface of all the lovely spots for photographs.

Andrew & Tracy were married last month at the stunning Headlam Hall. The weather was beautiful and the whole day was a real pleasure to be part of. From the ceremony to the speeches, the day was filled with emotion. I was even spotted by Andrew wiping away a tear myself! Here are just a few favourites from the day.

Tracy had some Nikes customised to change into after her heels had done their job - perfect.

Lauren and Andrew's wedding last month was a beautiful day. Held at St Mary's church in Ponteland and then Close House for the reception. Their two children Oscar and Lottie were brilliant - both looking gorgeous and helping me to make Mum and Dad smile by telling some hilarious jokes whilst I was taking photographs!

Sheila received a portrait shoot with me as a birthday present from her friends at High Plains, the yard where she keeps Pepper.
It was a hot day and the flies were out in force, but we had a lovely shoot. I always love capturing the relationship people have with their horses. Sheila and Pepper are a great team.

I recently did some photographs for Jo Feeley of Trend Bible which is a trend consultancy business. I went into their studio in Newcastle to take some portraits of the girls and to capture the creativitiy that goes on in there. They were all very stylish (obviously) and photogenic, so my job wasn't too tricky :)

I met recently with the Townsends to take some family portraits. It was a perfect evening, with lovely light as the sun was going down. We walked along the river, stopping to skim a few stones and found some great spots for photographs. Paul is a photographer himself so I was quite honoured that he chose me to capture him and his family.

Monday, August 10, 2009
Lottie & Diesel
Getting a new puppy must be one of the lovliest things on earth. This was Lottie and Diesel's first day together and I was thrilled to document the occasion. May it be a long and happy friendship.

I recently did a portrait session for Jane who runs Feed and Lead, a dog walking business in Gosforth. She commissioned me to join her on two of her walks to capture the dogs enjoying themselves. Here is a selection of photographs we got on the day. They were lovely dogs, all with their own personalities and seemed very happy to be frolicking around the town moor. I was quite happy to be frolicking too.

Pippa and Charlie's wedding day was superb. The sun shone, the music was great, the speeches had everyone laughing and crying and by the time I left, the dance floor was packed. Everyone just seemed to have a brilliant day, me included - so thank you to both families for making me so welcome.

Tracy and Andrew are getting married in August at the beautiful Headlam Hall. We chose that as the location for their portrait session. It's a stunning venue, with amazing gardens and grounds. I really am excited to be photographing the wedding next month.

As promised, here's an update on the 9 black labrador puppies. They are cuter than ever and trotting around like real little tinkers. There are still a few left for sale, for more information contact Ben and Ali 01434 618350.

Emma and Colin got married at the lovely Horton Grange. After a few showers in the morning the weather stayed on our side and everyone enjoyed a lovely reception in the gardens. The colour theme was peacock feathers and with no detail overlooked, it was a beautiful and colourful wedding.

Beamish Hall was the setting for Angela and Jamie's wedding. Admittedly it rained pretty much all day, but it didn't really matter. We just worked around the weather - I was lucky to have Lottie helping me out that day. We got wet and everyone else stayed dry! See the last photo as evidence (courtesy of one of the guests) :)
Regardless of the weather everyone had a lovely day, and they were a fabulous couple to photograph.

These beautiful little puppies (part of a litter of 9) were just one week old when I photographed them last week. Their Mum is Chocolate who I photographed for my good friends Ben and Ali, when she was just a puppy herself. All nine are gorgeous and healthy and there are still a few for sale. If you are interested, contact Ben or Ali on 01434 618350 - but be quick as I might just buy them all myself!
I'll definitely be photographing them again soon, so check back for an update.

I fell a little bit in love with Riley when I photographed him a couple of weeks ago. He is an absolutely stunning horse but also has a lovely temperament. I'm sure a lot of credit should go to his dedicated owner Christine who obviously loves him to bits.

I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago, of a family of Swallows who have been living outside my house. They nested here last year too - it was so lovely to see them come back again this Summer. I counted five little beaks and have found myself watching them for ages. The Mum & Dad zipping back and forward to feed the babies. As I got out of the car this morning I saw the whole family fly out the nest. They'll be here for the summer and then back off to Africa for the Winter - What amazing little creatures!

In preparation for Angela and Jamie's wedding later this month, this was their portrait session with me. There were a few nerves beforehand but they seemed to quickly disappear. I'm really looking forward to the wedding day...see you both soon!

This was a portrait session with Tara and her two thorughbreds, William & Harvey. It was clear to see that Tara dotes on her horses...and it's always a joy to capture this lovely relationship.

This was a recent portrait session done on a sunny day at the family's home, which I think is a great way for people to feel more relaxed in front of the camera. The kids were brilliant and we discovered that telling Laura not to smile or laugh under any circumstance was a sure fire way to get a grin out of her.

In preparation for their wedding at Eslington Villa this summer, this was Jo & Simon's portrait session with me. We did the session in Newcastle city centre, wandering around picking out interesting spots as backdrops.
I look forward to seeing you both on the wedding day :)

I first photographed Amelie, Louie, William & Millie 2 years ago. With the new additions of Anna & Phoebe we did this portrait session as a present for their grandparent's wedding anniversary. It was really lovely to photograph them all again and see the family growing. It was also great as Amelie & William remembered me from last time...and so were practiced models in front of the camera!

I am photographing Emma and Colin's wedding next month at Horton Grange. This was their portrait session with me in preparation for the big day. It was a grey rainy day, but it didn't seem to bother these two much. I love it when people are just so visibly happy together - it's a joy to photograph. Can't wait for the wedding :)

These portraits of Katy, Emily and Matty were done at home in their garden. They were brilliant little models and Matty especially, had a fantastic smile tucked up his sleeve for the camera.

Wizard & Levi are related to JJ (see the previous post). So after seeing what a natural he was in front of the camera, we did some more portraits with these two. We had a bit of a cold misty day for their portrait session, but the girls braved the weather and we got some lovely shots.
My lesson for the day was never stand on ant hills...not even for a minute to take a quick photograph!

This was a recent portrait session of the lovely JJ. With a bit of help and planning it was done as a surprise present for his owner.

Shot on location using natural light, this was Peter's second head shot session with me to update his portfolio.

This was a recent portrait session with Laura, a budding young actress, in order to produce 'headshots' for her portfolio.

Valentines day, with snow on the ground...it was a beautiful day to get married. Becky and Jim's wedding at Beamish Hall was gorgeous.
It was also Jim's birthday and Becky organised a surprise Ferrari to bring him and his best men down to Beamish. They certainly arrived in style.
I hope the two of you are enjoying a fantastic honeymoon!

I have now done my first 'shoe portrait'. It was the brilliant idea of Archie's mum (who I photographed for his first birthday last year). Not just any shoes..but Archie's first pair of shoes, which are now well and truly worn in and outgrown. We did it in order to produce a canvas as a surprise for Archie's dad's birthday. It worked really well and I love the idea of a portrait not even needing the person in the photograph.

I think there must be few things better in life than riding a horse on the beach. Druridge Bay was a perfect setting for Chancer's portrait session, and it was great to capture the two of them doing what they both love. You wouldn't guess that Chancer is 19...with such a spring in his step, but I could tell that these two are old pals and it was a real pleasure for me to photograph them both.

After their December wedding in Barbados, Slaley Hall in January was quite a contrast for Leigh & Nick's wedding party. It was a real wintery day, but Leigh & Nick and all the family braved it for some photographs...and it was well worth it.
I had a great day with them and was made to feel like one of the guests...so thank you to you two for making my job all the more enjoyable.

It was a beautiful crisp January day for Becky & Jim's portrait session on the Quayside. We'll definately be hoping for similar weather on their wedding day in February.

I did Amelia's portrait session before Christmas, but as it was done as a surprise for her Mum I've saved them until now to post on here.
What a delightful little girl...and an absolute pleasure to photograph.

Leigh and Nick have recently returned from their wedding in Barbados. Although I would have loved to have been with them in Barbados, I will instead be photographing their wedding celebration over here in the New year. This was their portrait session in preparation.

Ben & Ali's wedding was held in a beautiful candlelit church in Allendale and then at Langley Castle for the reception. Although it was a rainy December day, absolutely everyone had a fantastic day... it really was a joyous occasion. They are both dear friends of mine and I was thrilled to document their day. I really do love my job!

Matfen Hall was the venue for Ruth & Scott's wedding. With the huge Christmas tree in the Great Hall and mistletoe hanging at every corner it was a wonderful place for a festive wedding.

Ben and Ali's wedding in December is fast approaching. This was their pre wedding portrait session with me at their beautiful home near Allendale. Chocolate and Sweep, the Chocolate Labs have both been photographed by me this year, and were keen to get in on the act again.

I recently did a photo shoot for Newcastle based rock group Fables Last Stand. All the guys were real naturals in front of the camera and made my job easy and enjoyable!
Check out their MySpace http://www.myspace.com/fableslaststand to hear their music and news of upcoming gigs.

I remember sitting in the park with Catherine in the summer when we were 15 or 16, after school, talking about what it would be like when grew up and got married. We imagined many scenarios, but Catherine living in New Zealand and getting married on an island in Thailand wasn't one of them.
Catherine and Nick's wedding was beyond my imagination. It was beautiful and perfect in every way. I am so honoured and privileged to have played a part in it. I only hope I have done them, and it, justice through the photographs.

After doing a headshot session for Leanne a few weeks ago, we recently teamed up again to do more of a 'lifestyle' portrait shoot. In and around Hexham on a lovely September day offered up some great shots. Leanne was an absolute star and a joy to photograph.

The lovely Eshott Hall was the setting for Janene & Simon's wedding at the end of August. We were lucky enough to have good weather, and the whole day was truly a pleasure to be a part of.

We finished off the day with some shots in a near by corn field, freshly cut... and we had a close encounter with the combine harvester!
